Hello fellow citizens of Biden’s America,
Please read this while listening to the below mix by Lindsay Loham
WELCUM to The Deviant Dispatch. It’s Mo, your guide to the underground world of Brooklyn and beyond. On Wednesday I write about events and gossip for free. On Friday I write about MORE gossip for paying subscribers (just $5 a month!). If you can, please consider becoming a paying subscriber so I can pay rent. If you don’t have the coins, please just share this with someone!
Anyway, the big event this past week was Rupaul’s Drag Race Season 13 contestant Denali’s video showcasing the key figures of Chicago’s robust drag scene.
Widely shared and regarded as a good thing, Denali starts this video lip syncing the song that she performed on last Friday’s episode of drag race. We then get shots of Kahmora Hall (who Denali sent home) before taking a tour of Chicago’s drag as they each lip sync part of the song.
“Of course all the boogers who’ve done one gig in their life acted like “They didn;t represent everyone cuz I wasn’t in it!” Brigitte Bidget said on her podcast Good Judy. The Deviant Dispatch could not identify said boogers, but here are some queens who were present (excluding the Ru girls). I’d identify them all but Substack won’t give me enough room, so these are the queens I knew previously plus ones that caught my eye.

GAY: A Celebration of the Nintendo Gamecube
When: Wednesday 7pm EST
Where: twitch/tv/nerfthisxoxo
What: Geeks tune in! Irregular Girl and Masha Potato (who’s pictures you just scrolled past) hosts this tribute show with Shanita Bump, Biqtch Puddin, and more performing.
How much: free but tip the performers
The Cake Night Show: Curse of the Cake Boys
When: Friday, 8PM EST
Where: twitch.tv/the_cakeboys
What: A re-airing of Cake Night Show 2, and without a doubt more bonkers than anything you’d get on drag race. These kings also organized a raffle for the show, but from what I hear the surreal way these digital drag numbers weave together is worth the price of admission.
How much: Free but tip the boys, $5-10 suggested donation
Subculture Party
When: Saturday 9pm EST
Where: Zoom Meeting ID: 420-777-8888 password announced on their Insta day off
What: Chase Icon, Moodkiller (who turns out is hot), UMRU, and Lil Markio DJ at my new fave Zoom rave (tbh better than many IRL raves I’ve attended).
How much: Free
correction: the email version of this newsletter misidentified Loren J as Jayforpay
