Celebrate The Stupidity of Modern Elections with a Marathon Drag Brunch
Baby Tea Brunch Returns This Weekend + Some Other Drag Stuff
Hello Uglies,
Welcome to The Deviant Dispatch. I’m Mo, your guide to the underground world of Brooklyn and beyond. On Wednesday I write about events for free. On Friday I write about gossip for money (paying members only). Right now, I don’t want to write about anything. I just want to eat chocolate chip cookies and avoid looking at the news.
If you’re finding yourself glued to the screen and need some loud dramatic distractions, read on! Brooklyn’s most chaotic drag brunch is back this weekend, along with another show.
Hopefully by next week Biden will be declared the winner and we can begin partying in earnest.
Cheers,
Mo
RYS Presents : TKO
When: Thursday 7-12pm
Where: DM the hosts for the location (a popular BK queer space with money in the name)
What: This weekly show has lost Crystal Mesh and it’s original name, but it still has DJ Jon Ali. He had me dancing to a mashup of Doja Cat’s “Boss Bitch” and Azalea Bank’s “212” last time I attended. It felt like home. Plus, this week is the return of Robyn Edges, who’s funny and fierce. She’ll be lip syncing against the showboy Robin Wood. What more do you want in a drag night?
How much: $15
Baby Tea Brunch
When: Saturday, 12pm + 2:30pm
Where: The Turks Inn Rooftop
What: Charlene and Tyler Ashley are back for their irregular and highly coveted brunch party. Run don’t walk to grab tickets. This shindig fills up fast. I would deft opt for the later round of shows so the hosts will already be drunk and wild as the brunch begins.
How much: $40 for brunch (not bottomless) plus money to tip the dolls

I write twice a week: once about upcoming worthy events (for free subscribers) and once about underground news and gossip (for paying members). You can send me tips about either by emailing thedeviantdispatch@gmail.com . If you care about drag queens, illegal parties, independent music/art/film/fashion, experimental pop, and social revolution, you need to read The Deviant Dispatch.
